Process Engineer Co-op/Intern (Robotics)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; onsite

Pay range: $24–35 CAD per hour

What you will do

• Design, conduct, and document experiments using six-axis industrial robots.
• Develop routines for robot commissioning, calibration, motion optimization, and process automation.
• Perform failure analysis, collect data, and apply statistical process control.
• Develop and tune machine vision solutions for part detection, measurement, and station setup.
• Design, prototype, and validate custom end-of-arm tooling and robot jigs using 3D printing, basic machining, and epoxy-based assembly.
• Document robotic procedures, support team training, and transfer developed processes to the manufacturing site in Thailand.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.Eng. in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, or a similar discipline.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assemblies, epoxy application, packaging processes, or equipment.
• Programming experience with Python, C#, C++, URScript, or KAREL.
• Familiarity with machine vision, basic optics, CAD software, microscopes, coordinate measuring machines, profilometers, or 3D printers.
• Familiarity with robotics, automation processes, and basic machine-shop tools.
• Must be eligible to complete a background check.
