Specialist Software Engineering (Amazon Connect)

Location: Hybrid, with three days per week in office at a hub location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; or Denver, Colorado. Travel of up to 10% and work outside normal business hours may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Salary: $131,000–$160,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS using Well-Architected Framework principles.
• Develop serverless and containerized applications with Lambda, ECS/EKS, and API Gateway.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
• Design and optimize storage, networking, security, and observability solutions across AWS platforms.
• Lead complex architectural analysis, translate business requirements into technical designs, and collaborate with product owners, development teams, contractors, and offshore engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Six years of software development experience, including at least five years focused on AWS.
• Deep expertise in core AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, and Route 53.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, event-driven architecture, CI/CD, containers, networking, security, observability, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language, such as Java, Python, Node, or Go.
• Strong technical communication, presentation, problem-solving, customer focus, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Amazon Connect experience.
• Advanced analytics, machine learning, big data, real-time streaming, data warehousing, ETL, or AWS data engineering experience.
• AWS or Microsoft certifications, especially AWS Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.
• Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, Bedrock, or SageMaker.
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and complex enterprise integrations.
