Software Engineer, Lead (Java)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; onsite role. Relocation assistance may be available.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of features and services from architecture and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and build scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant services and APIs for dealer and customer-facing experiences.
• Own feature-level architecture for capabilities such as PreQual, Pricing, Incentives, and Funding.
• Coordinate functional, integration, performance, and production-readiness activities.
• Partner with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams to translate business priorities into technical solutions.
• Guide, mentor, and help hire engineers while supporting engineering standards and operational discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production features or services.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, event-driven APIs, AWS, ECS, Fargate, serverless components, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building highly available customer-facing applications, distributed systems, and full-stack solutions using frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue.
• Must have the right to work in the United States and must not require hirify.global immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, lending, financial services, digital commerce, dealer, or loan-origination platforms.
• Experience with high-volume transactional systems and event-driven distributed architectures.
• Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, or similar observability platforms.
• Contributions to engineering standards, platform modernization, developer experience, or engineering culture.
