Lead Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States. This is an onsite, full-time role. Applicants must already have the right to work in the United States and must not require employment-based visa or work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

What you will do

• Lead feature and service delivery from architecture and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Design and build scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant services and APIs for dealer and customer-facing platforms.
• Own feature-level architecture for capabilities such as PreQual, Pricing, Incentives, and Funding.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, review design and code quality, and support engineering standards.
• Coordinate functional, integration, performance, and production-readiness activities for reliable releases.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and partner with Product, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production features or services.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST, GraphQL, event-driven APIs, and distributed systems.
• Practical AWS experience, including ECS, Fargate, serverless components, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with React, Next.js, or Vue, plus full-stack application design and UI-facing API optimization.
• Experience with automated, functional, integration, and performance testing, observability, troubleshooting, and production support.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, lending, financial services, digital commerce, dealer platforms, or loan-origination systems.
• Experience with high-volume transactional architectures, platform modernization, and engineering standards.
• Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, or similar observability platforms.
