Principal Software Development Engineer (AI)

Annual pay range: $134,400–$165,000

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of scalable enterprise applications across the Araya platform and broader SaaS ecosystem.
• Integrate agentic AI capabilities into existing products and transform traditional workflows into intelligent user experiences.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, and automation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and Engineering leaders to define technical strategy and architectural direction.
• Build reusable AI skills, agents, and frameworks to improve engineering productivity.
• Mentor engineers and improve system reliability, security, scalability, performance, and production issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience building enterprise-scale applications.
• Deep expertise in Java, distributed systems, API development, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale SaaS products in a product engineering environment.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, and AI-first software development practices.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing architectural decisions across complex engineering organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic AI applications, AI-powered product experiences, AI skills, MCP servers, or intelligent automation capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, modern front-end frameworks, event-driven architectures, and AI-enabled product development.
