What you will do
- Coordinate shipping orders for biological samples, laboratory materials, and related goods across Europe and internationally.
- Package and label shipments and prepare cover letters, freight documents, and customs documentation.
- Review shipment data for customs relevance, classification, documentation completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, brokers, customers, and service providers, including for time-critical border crossings.
- Maintain import/export records and support compliance checks, audits, and process documentation updates.
- Process incoming goods, manage inventory, order logistics materials, and improve logistics processes with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training or degree in business administration, logistics, customs, or a related field.
- Practical experience in logistics, customs, import/export, or freight forwarding.
- Knowledge of customs clearance, shipping documentation, and import/export compliance requirements.
- Reliability clearance under Section 7 of the German Aviation Security Act (LuftSiG).
- Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel and ERP experience are advantageous.
- Fluent German and English at B2 level or higher are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with dangerous goods.
- Knowledge of tariff classification, country of origin, customs value, restricted party screening, or license-related checks.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
