TL;DR
Service Technician - Edmonton (Dental Equipment): Troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and installing dental equipment at customer sites with an accent on mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems. Focus on diagnosing complex equipment issues, coordinating parts and repairs, supporting emergency callouts, and maintaining reliable service across dentists’ offices.

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, with daily travel between dentists’ offices throughout the territory; periodic overnight travel and evening or weekend emergency callouts required.

Salary: CAD 58,100–87,100 annual.

What you will do

  • Respond to customer service requests, complete work orders, and communicate service information with customers, Sales Representatives, and Service Coordinators.
  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, and calibrate on-site dental equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Document equipment issues and completed repairs, and coordinate required parts, supplies, and tools.
  • Support new equipment installations, verify equipment settings, and provide follow-up service.
  • Follow maintenance contracts and sell maintenance contracts when appropriate.
  • Report incidents, injuries, and near misses while following safety policies and participating in ongoing education.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience repairing equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or plumbing systems.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, prioritization, organization, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Canadian or equivalent driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to travel daily between customer sites, work evening and weekend emergency callouts, and travel overnight periodically.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and operate hand and small power tools.

Nice to have

  • Dental Equipment Manufacturer certification training.
  • Certification, diploma, or degree in mechanical, electrical, or small machine repair.
