Maintenance Technologist (Manufacturing)

Location: Brockville, Ontario, Canada; onsite manufacturing facility

Salary: CAD 79,326.90–96,955.10 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Perform preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance on automated manufacturing machinery, including emergency breakdown response.
• Read schematics and drawings, conduct inspections, and support preventive maintenance schedules.
• Develop, modify, test, validate, and troubleshoot PLC programs and control systems to improve production performance and reduce downtime.
• Integrate PLCs with automation equipment, perform software updates and backups, and maintain technical documentation.
• Support installation, setup, upgrades, and modifications of manufacturing equipment in collaboration with engineering, maintenance, production, and quality teams.
• Maintain work orders and equipment histories, follow safety protocols, manage critical spare parts, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Completion of a technologist or technician diploma before starting, or 309A, 433A, or 442A certification.
• Must be a Canadian citizen normally residing in Canada or a permanent resident normally residing in Canada to obtain mandatory Controlled Goods clearance.
• Ability to provide valid identification, a residential address, and employment history for the past five years for the security clearance process.
• Experience with PLC programming, electrical and control systems, electro-mechanics, pneumatics, or hydraulics is relevant; 2–3 years of manufacturing technical support experience and one year of electro-mechanical experience are additional qualifications.
• Good mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with little supervision in a team-oriented environment.
• Travel may include up to 5% domestic or international travel; relocation assistance is not authorized.
