Supplier Quality Engineer I (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Manage Material Review Boards, disposition nonconforming material, investigate product containment, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions prevent recurrence.
• Facilitate Root Cause Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement processes using audit findings and quality data.
• Develop and maintain quality evaluation, inspection, testing, and control procedures for partially finished and finished products.
• Perform process and procedure audits for compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, AS9100, and AS9110.
• Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, analyze manufacturing and process issues, and support problem resolution.
• Support First Article Inspections, corrective action meetings, supplier and customer needs, SOP and work-instruction development, and material flow coordination.

Requirements

• Technical engineering degree with two years of experience, associate degree with five years of experience, or high school diploma with ten years of experience.
• Background in manufacturing and/or aviation, with the ability to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify trends, and apply quality principles.
• Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools and experience using inspection gauges and measuring equipment.
• Working knowledge of Deltek ERP tools, Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• AS9100/AS9110 experience and in-depth knowledge of quality engineering methods.
• A&P experience.
• SQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Improvement Associate, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification.
