Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site at a key supplier facility in Europe; domestic and international travel may be required. The position header lists San Jose, California, United States.

What you will do

• Perform supplier quality oversight, source inspections, process audits, and First Article Inspections for composite and structural components.
• Act as the on-site quality point of contact between the supplier and Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Program Management teams.
• Review and disposition nonconforming material, implement containment actions, and verify corrective-action effectiveness.
• Apply quality assurance and technical integrity principles to ensure customer and hirify.global requirements are understood and quality controls are effective.
• Lead or support quality investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reporting on quality issues.
• Support quality strategies, measurement frameworks, and improvement programs throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Engineering in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Primary experience with composites and/or structures; aerospace experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality tools including RCCA, process mapping, and FAI.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, and supplier auditing techniques.
• Must be able to work on-site at a supplier facility in Europe and travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with composite manufacturing processes such as layup, bagging, curing/autoclave, bonding, machining, and non-destructive inspection.
• Experience with structural or metallic special processes for high-integrity engineered components.
• Experience leading supplier or manufacturing improvements, new product introduction, design changes, and manufacturability assessments.
• Experience evaluating supplier capacity, readiness, and industrialization scaling.
• Familiarity with PLM or ERP systems, bills of materials, and traceability.
