Black Belt (Lean Six Sigma)

Location: Onsite in Kent, Washington, United States; relocation assistance is available. Travel up to 15% to Hypertherm offices.

Salary: $90,901–$151,503 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional and cross-regional Lean and Six Sigma improvement projects as a hands-on change agent.
• Apply structured problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and project management practices to deliver sustained business results.
• Design and deliver Lean and Six Sigma training, and coach Yellow, Green, and Black Belts through projects and certification.
• Facilitate kaizen events and improvement workshops, including project chartering, preparation, execution, and sustainment.
• Apply value-stream and process mapping, root cause analysis, waste elimination, 5S, visual workplace, and 5 Whys.
• Define project metrics, track impact, and communicate progress, risks, outcomes, and lessons learned to sponsors and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Certified and practicing Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with typically 5–10 years of applied experience leading complex, cross-functional improvement initiatives, or equivalent experience.
• Proven record of delivering real, sustained, and measurable results through Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Experience in business process leadership, engineering, operations, or a similarly complex organizational environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and applied statistics skills, with the ability to translate data into decisions and action.
• Experience with facilitation, kaizen events or training, project management, risk management, stakeholder communication, and influencing without authority.
• Sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization and other immigration-related support is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in a technical, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Project planning or project management certification.
• Experience designing and delivering adult learning or training programs.
