What you will do
- Inspect and assess damage to aircraft structural and composite components, then formulate repair or replacement procedures using applicable technical data.
- Fabricate, form, cut, bend, and fasten repair or replacement parts using advanced metalworking tools, jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds.
- Remove and install close-tolerance, high-strength fasteners in major aircraft structural components.
- Perform corrosion treatment, control-surface rigging, and post-repair flight-control weight and balance functions.
- Inspect completed repairs for structural serviceability and document maintenance in automated systems and quality records.
- Maintain tools and support equipment, perform FOD walks, and follow safety and hazardous-material handling procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanic I: 2+ years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience.
- Mechanic II: 5+ years of relevant depot-level aircraft structural maintenance experience.
- Mechanic III: 12+ years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience, including 5+ years of depot-level structural maintenance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation, perform basic mathematics, enter maintenance data accurately, and communicate technical information.
Nice to have
- FAA Airplane, Airframe, and/or Powerplant certification.
- Air Force Specialty Code 2A753 or 2A773 experience.
- Experience supporting DoD contracts and multiple aviation qualifications or certifications.
- For Mechanic III, ability to train others in multiple aviation disciplines.
