RTC - Aircraft Mechanic III (Rotary-Wing Aircraft)

Location: Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, United States; must be eligible to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, rig, repair, and modify aircraft structures, components, and systems.
• Maintain and repair landing gear, flight controls, anti-icing systems, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, environmental systems, and other mechanical components.
• Diagnose malfunctions in airframe and powerplant systems and restore equipment condition or operation.
• Read and interpret manufacturers’ and airlines’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and specifications.
• Perform periodic, hourly, special, and calendar inspections.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience or 6 years of verifiable RDT&E experience in rotary-wing Army Aviation maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of UH-60, CH-47, and 530 aircraft systems, including hydraulics, structures, engines, APUs, and electrical systems.
• FAA A&P/P license or completion of military aircraft engine repairer school for 701D/T55/250 series.
• Completion of a military or vocational school in turbine engine repair and experience with military installation depot-level maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice to have

• Engine/APU flight-line production or expediter experience.
• UH-60, CH-47, or 530 Level II Aircraft Engine Mechanic experience or equivalent.
