Location: Edwards Air Force Base, California, United States; onsite role

Salary: $52.11 per hour

What you will do

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on NASA aircraft, simulators, unmanned aerial systems, payload systems, and ground support equipment.
  • Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall aircraft components and accessories.
  • Complete engineering work orders and document maintenance actions and repairs in NASA’s automated maintenance data system, NAMIS.
  • Conduct aircraft inspections and repairs in accordance with quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform aircraft ground support duties, including towing, marshalling, and jacking.
  • Follow NASA and company requirements for safety, tool control, housekeeping, and foreign object damage prevention.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of aircraft maintenance experience on fixed-wing commercial, government, or Department of Defense aircraft.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification required, or certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Ability to coordinate with operations engineers and other technically qualified personnel.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and perform physical labor, including lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing aircraft ladders, and prolonged walking or standing.
  • Must pass a NASA-administered physical.
