Senior Category Specialist (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Hanover, NH, United States. Travel: 10% domestic, with potential for international travel.

Salary: $93,936–$156,562 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Ensure continuous material supply while optimizing cost, quality, and risk.
• Manage supplier pricing, performance, delivery escalations, and inventory issues across assigned categories.
• Develop sourcing and category strategies through supplier performance analysis.
• Negotiate and govern purchase agreements, purchase orders, contract compliance, and pricing or invoicing variance resolution.
• Lead cost-reduction and value-creation initiatives, including annual savings targets and multi-year programs.
• Support new product introduction, engineering change orders, end-of-life parts management, and cross-functional supplier projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
• 15+ years of supply chain experience.
• Analytical skills in cost-benefit analysis and make-or-buy decision modeling.
• Experience developing and negotiating contracts.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to train and mentor others on Lean concepts and develop strategic direction.

Nice to have

• ISM and/or APICS certification.
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Knowledge of Lean/JIT methodology.
• Experience with Oracle purchasing modules or a similar ERP system.
