Senior Category Manager (Logistics)

Location: Hybrid arrangement with onsite work required 3 days per week at the U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Salary: $158,200–$165,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus with a target of 14% of base salary.

What you will do

• Develop and execute multi-year logistics category strategies for 4PL, transportation, and distribution services across the Americas.
• Lead complex sourcing events, including RFPs, negotiations, supplier selection, and contract awards.
• Negotiate agreements covering rates, SLAs, temperature control, business continuity, and service performance.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships through KPIs, scorecards, QBRs, continuous improvement plans, and risk mitigation.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, and regional business leaders on sourcing decisions and network transformations.
• Deliver cost efficiency, service improvements, risk reduction, carbon-footprint reductions, and greater spend transparency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of procurement or category management experience, including 5+ years specializing in logistics.
• Experience managing high-value logistics contracts in complex, multinational environments.
• Deep expertise in U.S. logistics regulations, cold chain requirements, and Good Distribution Practice standards.
• Strong commercial judgment, negotiation, stakeholder influence, analytical skills, and experience with digital procurement and ERP systems.
• Effective English communication is required for regulated workplace communications, policies, procedures, and training materials.

Nice to have

• MBA or professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CIPS, or Lean Six Sigma.
• Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or medical devices.
• Experience with SAP Ariba or equivalent procurement platforms, Power BI, dashboards, data visualization, and AI technologies.
