Supply Chain Category Manager - Sr Supply Chain Category Manager (Technical Services) (Natural Gas)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; office environment with occasional overnight travel

What you will do

• Create and execute category-specific purchasing strategies aligned with business goals.
• Execute RFPs and RFQs for technical services, including engineering, consulting, line locating, leak surveying, inspection, testing, and pipeline integrity services.
• Build supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and negotiate contracts, terms, and prices.
• Research suppliers, monitor market trends, and assess the impact of inflation and tariffs on pricing and budgets.
• Partner with risk, engineering, operations, and finance stakeholders to identify risks and align procurement with project requirements.
• Track procurement KPIs, control expenses, implement cost-saving initiatives, and resolve supplier disputes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience; gas utility experience may be considered in lieu of procurement experience.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal clients and supplier representatives.
• Proficiency in reporting, statistical analysis, ratios, percentages, and economic analysis.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word, plus knowledge of purchasing and inventory control databases such as Oracle or SAP.
• Ability to work in an office environment in Dallas, Texas, with occasional overnight travel.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or professional certification such as CPM or CPSM.
