Maintenance Planner (Petrochemical)

Location: Chocolate Bayou, Alvin, Texas, USA; on-site industrial plant role.

What you will do

• Review and field-verify maintenance work requests, develop work plans, and prepare job packages and documentation.
• Identify material and contractor requirements, produce cost estimates, initiate procurement, and track delivery and service status.
• Plan and schedule weekly and daily maintenance work to minimize equipment downtime and use labor and resources efficiently.
• Maintain the maintenance backlog, standard plan library, planning and scheduling KPIs, and preventive maintenance completion tracking.
• Facilitate daily and weekly planning and scheduling meetings with Maintenance and Production leadership.
• Identify schedule constraints and trends, recommend corrective action, and provide rotating night and weekend callout support coordination.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a two-year technical degree is preferred.
• At least five years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment, with petrochemical plant or refinery experience required.
• Strong knowledge of petrochemical safety practices, including energy isolation, lockout/tagout, work permits, confined-space entry, working at heights, hazard communication, lifting and hoisting, incident investigation, and MOC.
• Experience with industrial mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, analyzer, static, and rotating equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experience with maintenance work-order scheduling software such as Primavera and SAP; ability to read P&IDs.
• Fluent English and ability to acquire a TWIC card required.

Nice to have

• Experience with pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, piping, valves, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, pressure relief devices, and fired equipment.
• Experience with instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting, HART communicators, control valves, analyzers, VFDs, transformers, motors, UPS systems, and low- and medium-voltage equipment.
• Experience assessing work sequencing, planning efficiency, scheduling, and maintenance costs.
