Foreign Trade Zone Manager (Life Sciences)

Location: US - Plainfield, Indiana; onsite role

Salary: $86,000–$108,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the site’s Foreign Trade Zone program, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
• Manage FTZ documentation and reporting, including admissions, transfers, withdrawals, and annual reports.
• Own the Inventory Control and Recordkeeping System and maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
• Coordinate daily FTZ operations, including receipt, storage, movement, shipment, admissions, transfers, and removals.
• Serve as the primary contact for U.S. Customs and Border Protection audits, inquiries, and site visits.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Finance, IT, Legal, customers, and external stakeholders on risk mitigation, training, reporting, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in FTZ operations, customs compliance, or regulated warehouse environments.
• Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, including 19 CFR 146, and FTZ procedures.
• Experience managing audits and regulatory interactions.
• Experience with inventory control systems such as ICRS, WMS, or similar platforms.
• Must be able to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• FTZ certification or specialized customs compliance training.
• Experience implementing or scaling FTZ programs.
• Experience in life sciences or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience working with external consultants or FTZ implementation partners.
