Manager, External Supply (Pharma)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $109,500–$208,500 per year.

What you will do

• Manage relationships with 1–3 external suppliers supporting the manufacturing network.
• Partner with Procurement, Quality, Planning, Science & Technology, Operations, and site stakeholders to address supplier performance and operational issues.
• Track and communicate supplier KPIs, performance metrics, action plans, and follow-up activities.
• Lead supplier business reviews and operational review meetings.
• Lead assurance-of-supply activities, including forecast alignment, capacity planning, risk identification, and mitigation.
• Support supplier onboarding, qualification, change notifications, continuous improvement, productivity, cost initiatives, RFPs, and supplier-related budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, external manufacturing, procurement, supplier management, operations, or a related function.
• Experience working cross-functionally to manage supplier performance and operational priorities.
• Knowledge of supplier performance metrics, capacity planning, forecasting, and assurance-of-supply principles.
• Strong communication, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required by business needs.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Experience managing raw-material suppliers in regulated industries.
• Experience with regulated environments, cGMP requirements, supplier business reviews, and performance improvement.
• Familiarity with ERP and SAP supplier quality systems, deviations, change controls, corrective actions, and regulated documentation.
