Associate, Securitization (CMBS)

Location: New York, NY, United States

Annual base salary: $100,000–$120,000, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support underwriting and closing for commercial real estate loans and CMBS securitizations, including conduit, single-asset single-borrower, and CRE CLO transactions.
• Review financial statements, rent rolls, leases, appraisals, CoStar reports, title and zoning reports, insurance policies, credit reports, and other due diligence materials.
• Compile and update Excel data tapes covering loan terms, property data, tenants, third-party information, and cash flows.
• Research tenant-level financial trends, credit ratings, and market capitalization, and prepare property and market summaries.
• Populate offering document pool information and prepare credit memo, asset summary, underwriting, and post-closing materials.
• Manage client interactions and coordinate with accountants to clear exceptions across accounting tapes, term sheets, offering documents, and annex footnotes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, real estate, business, or equivalent education and experience.
• 3–6 years of experience in CMBS securitization, banking, rating agencies, accounting, or a related field.
• Familiarity with commercial real estate, due diligence, commercial lending, securitization, credit, and risk management policies.
• Understanding of office, retail, industrial, hotel, and multifamily property sectors and their investment characteristics.
• Excellent Excel and cash flow modeling skills, together with strong business writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work in New York, NY; long workdays and weekend work may be required depending on deal flow.
