Associate Director, Private Credit Accounting

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY or Union, NJ

Salary: USD 94,000–205,000 annually in New Jersey; USD 95,000–205,000 annually in New York. Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead the private credit accounting team, set priorities, review deliverables, and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level accountants.
• Oversee quarterly and annual financial statements, investor reports, management reporting packages, and investor notices.
• Manage general ledger maintenance, NAV calculations, portfolio performance reporting, and accounting for fund expenses, fees, capital calls, and distributions.
• Oversee accounting and reporting for senior secured loans, unitranche, mezzanine, subordinated debt, structured credit, and co-investments.
• Coordinate with valuation teams, fund administrators, auditors, investment teams, and investors on complex transactions, due diligence, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 7–10+ years of progressive experience in fund accounting, audit, or financial reporting within private credit, direct lending, or alternative investment funds.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing, training, and developing accounting teams.
• Experience with complex waterfall and carried interest structures.
• Knowledge of multi-currency and cross-border fund structures, including Cayman, Luxembourg, and Delaware structures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, client relationship, and project management skills.

• CPA or master’s degree.
• Experience with Allvue, Investran, eDFront, Geneva, and advanced Excel.
