Director of Finance

Location: On-site in Long Island City, Queens, New York. Core hours are Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, with flexibility based on month-end close, planning cycles, inventory buys, and major sales events.

Base salary: $175,000–$250,000 per annum. Fixed base salary; performance bonus eligibility may be evaluated after six months. Equity is not part of the current compensation structure.

hirify.global is a fast-growing multi-channel retail and ecommerce business serving trading card game players and collectors through online and in-store experiences.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the company-wide three-statement financial model, 13-week cash forecast, and capital plan.
• Define SKU- and channel-level margins, pricing and discount guardrails, CAC/payback rules, and lead margin improvement initiatives.
• Establish finance infrastructure, including a repeatable month-end close and reliable weekly and monthly reporting.
• Partner with Sales, Buying, and Operations to guide hiring, inventory purchases, marketing spend, and cash deployment.
• Work with external tax advisors on entity structure, tax planning, and compliance.
• Clean up historical financials, prepare a data room, and build lender and growth-capital relationships.

Requirements

• 7–12 years of finance or accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
• Experience building or rebuilding a finance function in a founder-led ecommerce, retail, or inventory-heavy business with approximately $10–100M in revenue.
• Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, SKU- and channel-level P&Ls, marketplaces, live commerce, retail fees, shipping, discounts, and returns.
• Strong financial modeling and cash management skills, including ownership of a three-statement model and 13-week cash forecast.
• Ability to operate with high ownership in low-structure, high-growth environments and make decisions using imperfect data.
• Clean financial judgment and the ability to explain trade-offs clearly to non-finance leaders and frontline operators.

Nice to have

• Experience with M&A, exits, buyer due diligence, quality-of-earnings work, or data rooms.
• Experience raising or supporting debt or growth capital for an ecommerce or retail company.
• Background in trading cards, collectibles, hobby, or specialty retail.
• Experience making a company audit-ready and working with external CPAs and advisors.
• Familiarity with multi-channel DTC and lightweight finance tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, spreadsheets, or basic BI.
