EDS Lineman (Electrical Distribution)

Location: Carrizo Springs, Texas; must live within an 80-mile radius of the EDS area spanning Big Wells to Tilden

What you will do

• Install, maintain, inspect, and repair 25 kV overhead and underground electrical distribution lines and related equipment.
• Use bucket trucks, digger derricks, electrical tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Coordinate outage repairs and safe re-energization, including emergency outage response.
• Assist with supervising construction and maintenance crews and fill in for the Lead Lineman during absences.
• Work with utility workers, electrical engineers, and contractors on distribution-system designs, material lists, and project execution.
• Maintain work records, materials documentation, and time tracking while following applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Valid Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent experience; 3–5 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints and use electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is preferred but not required.
• Ability to live within an 80-mile radius of the EDS service area from Big Wells to Tilden.
• Ability to work on call, including after-hours, holidays, and weekends, and to climb poles and perform pole-top rescue.
