Line Mechanic (Danielson, CT)

Location: Danielson, Connecticut, United States. On-site utility work is required, with availability to reach the reporting base within approximately one-half hour and live within one hour of the reporting location.

Salary starts at $56.32 and progresses according to the union contract.

What you will do

• Construct, operate, and maintain the electric distribution system.
• Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment.
• Work aloft on utility poles and on ground- and pad-mounted structures.
• Perform rubber gloving on high-voltage distribution systems up to 23KV.
• Direct the work of other coworkers when assigned.
• Respond to trouble calls, overtime, emergency work, and emergency restoration assignments.

Requirements

• At least one year of line mechanic experience for the fully qualified position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to skillfully climb poles using lineman’s climbers.
• Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the role.
• Ability to communicate effectively and direct coworkers.
• Ability to hold and possess a Commercial Driver’s License; a valid CDL and clean driving record are preferred.
