Engineer Broadcast IT

Location: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, United States; onsite

hirify.global is a large local television and media company operating broadcast stations and digital media services across the United States.

What you will do

• Provide IT support for station users, including account administration, email, desktop support, servers, workstations, printers, VPN, wireless access points, and domain controllers.
• Manage and maintain broadcast technology, news production servers, content storage, playout systems, graphics, and editing systems.
• Evaluate, install, service, and maintain broadcast equipment and facility IT systems.
• Administer antivirus and related support systems and help implement new technical infrastructure.
• Support engineering, news, production, and sales departments while working with management and coworkers.
• Maintain facilities and vehicle fleet as needed and assist with compliance with applicable FCC and other laws.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Strong IT, networking, remote desktop, and VPN experience.
• Knowledge of Adobe editing systems and at least three years of previous broadcast engineering experience.
• Experience with Active Directory, Windows and Linux operating systems, broadcast automation, routers, video storage, SAN or Isilon storage, satellite ground stations, and RF is relevant to the role.
• Ability to terminate broadcast and IT-related cables, meet deadlines, prioritize work, and manage multiple tasks.
• Fluency in English and strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Microsoft or Cisco certifications.
• Experience with AV switching, video encoding and decoding, and file transcoding.
• Ability to coach and mentor others in technical skills.
