Location: Cleveland, Ohio, United States; onsite work across computer rooms in the greater Cleveland area

What you will do

• Install, rack, cable, maintain, and decommission server, storage, network, and other data center hardware.
• Manage cabling, patch panels, fiber connections, rack layouts, cooling strategies, power distribution, heat calculations, and phase balancing.
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues with data center engineers, hardware vendors, hardware owners, and network services teams.
• Plan and support power whip installations and equipment deployments across multiple computer rooms.
• Use data center infrastructure management tools such as Aperture/Vista, dcTrack, and PowerIQ to support customer requests and intelligent PDU deployments.
• Follow computer room policies and procedures while providing reliable customer support and closing issues effectively.

Requirements

• Understanding of server, storage, and network hardware, including memory, cards, connections, and disk drives.
• Knowledge of port teaming, IP addressing, DHCP, static IPs, and VLANs.
• Experience with fiber optic cabling, patch panels, cable plants, cable polarity, rack hardware, and cable management.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, decision-making, time-management, and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation, ability to work across Cleveland-area sites, flexibility for unusual hours, and 24x7 on-call availability.
• Ability to work in cramped conditions, lift and carry fragile devices weighing up to 70 pounds, and distinguish colors.

Nice to have

• Experience with Aperture/Vista, dcTrack, PowerIQ, and intelligent PDU configuration.
• Knowledge of CCF room, rack, device, cabling, PDU, circuit, naming, color-coding, and rack-layout standards.
