Network Technician (Fiber Optic)

Location: 401 W 5th St, Greenville, NC, United States. The role is based in a physical Central Office and requires overtime and weekend work.

What you will do

• Support and maintain switching equipment in Central Offices.
• Install, support, and maintain fiber and copper networks.
• Support transport networks and central power platforms.
• Monitor and respond to switch alarm activity.
• Maintain backup generators and keep them in optimal operating condition.
• Install and maintain special circuits while working with the TIRKS system.

Requirements

• Experience working with network infrastructure and physical Central Office systems.
• Familiarity with inside and outside plant cabling practices.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to drive technical issues through to resolution.
• Ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Availability for overtime and weekend work.
