Director, Investment Data & Intelligence

Location: Hybrid office environment, with three days per week in office, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; or Denver, Colorado. Frequent travel of 25–50% is required. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available, and relocation assistance will not be provided.

Salary: $173,000–$215,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Define and execute the strategy, roadmap, operating model, governance, quality, lineage, stewardship, and security standards for investment data and analytics.
• Lead and grow a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and visualization professionals while remaining technically hands-on.
• Architect and build cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, integration frameworks, data lakes, lakehouses, and warehouses for market, portfolio, transaction, performance, risk, ESG, private-market, and alternative-investment data.
• Develop trusted investment analytics, dashboards, and interactive reporting for executives, investment teams, clients, and operational stakeholders.
• Partner with investment, product, executive, and client stakeholders to turn data assets into products, automate manual reporting, and improve operational efficiency.
• Evaluate AI, machine learning, generative AI, and emerging technologies for investment research, portfolio analytics, and decision support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, finance, mathematics, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, investment technology, or data platform leadership.
• Experience in asset management, wealth management, fintech, hedge funds, institutional investing, private markets, or capital markets.
• Strong understanding of portfolio management, investment operations, risk management, performance measurement and attribution, security master data, and investment reference data.
• Expertise in Python, SQL, cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, modern data architecture, data modeling, pipeline development, and API integration frameworks.
• Experience with modern visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or similar platforms, plus the ability to lead while remaining technically hands-on.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a technical or quantitative discipline.
• CFA, CAIA, CIPM, FRM, or a similar industry certification.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Aladdin, Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI, or Morningstar.
• Experience building customer-facing analytics products or working in startup, scale-up, or high-growth technology environments.
