Senior Linux Platform Engineer

Location: Burlington, New Jersey, United States; hybrid with four days onsite

What you will do

• Design, automate, maintain, and modernize enterprise-grade Linux environments supporting critical business functions.
• Troubleshoot operating system, kernel, storage, networking, authentication, and application dependencies.
• Implement scalable solutions and improve platform reliability through automation, configuration management, and observability.
• Manage virtualization, compute, server hardware, enterprise storage, backup, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
• Lead complex technical projects from planning through implementation and ongoing support.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-disciplinary, offshore, managed service, and stakeholder teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on Linux, systems, or platform engineering experience in enterprise production environments.
• Extensive experience with Linux, particularly RHEL and SUSE, in mission-critical enterprise settings.
• Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, and Git.
• Experience with vSphere, compute, server hardware, lifecycle management, and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, or Nagios.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP/Active Directory, VPN, firewalls, load balancing, SAN, NAS, and backup technologies.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Burlington, New Jersey, with four days onsite; willingness to participate in on-call support and maintenance rotation.

Nice to have

• Security hardening, vulnerability remediation, SOX, or PCI-DSS experience.
• Cloud computing experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience with containerization, cloud-native architectures, and modernization initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
