Senior Linux Administrator (RHEL): Administering, securing, automating, and optimizing enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems in a VMware-based environment with an accent on Red Hat Satellite, DISA STIG compliance, and production infrastructure operations. Focus on resolving complex cross-layer incidents, automating patching and configuration management, and maintaining secure, highly available systems for the 616th Operations Center.
Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States; onsite
Salary: $115,000–$135,000 annually

What you will do
- Own the administration, sustainment, security, patching, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise RHEL systems.
- Administer Red Hat Satellite for registration, repositories, lifecycle environments, provisioning, configuration management, and patch deployment.
- Implement DISA STIG configurations, analyze vulnerability and compliance findings, and deliver operating-system remediation.
- Develop Bash, Ansible, and other automation for administration, security, monitoring, patching, and configuration management.
- Deploy and troubleshoot Linux virtual machines in VMware vSphere/vCenter and support Linux-hosted enterprise services, including Elastic Stack components.
- Perform root-cause analysis, backup and recovery operations, performance monitoring, documentation, and technical leadership for Linux projects.
Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance with NATO Secret is required.
- High school education with 9+ years of experience or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on enterprise Linux administration experience, including recent production RHEL administration.
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat Satellite, RHEL patch management, DISA STIG implementation, vulnerability remediation, and Linux security controls.
- Strong Bash scripting, configuration management or infrastructure automation, VMware vSphere/vCenter, Linux storage, networking, authentication, certificates, and troubleshooting skills.
- DoD 8140 Intermediate 451 System Administrator IT (Cyberspace) certification or qualifying training and certifications.
Nice to have
- Advanced Ansible, Python, REST API, Git, Kickstart/PXE, automated compliance, or RHEL provisioning experience.
- Linux VDI administration with Omnissa Horizon and experience supporting Elastic Stack services.
- Experience with monitoring platforms, RHEL migrations, classified or air-gapped environments, and Department of Defense or Intelligence Community systems.
- RHCSA, RHCE, Red Hat Specialist, or VMware VCP-DCV certification.
