Packaging Engineer (Manufacturing)

Salary: $80,276–$114,680 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for finished-format packaging equipment and materials, including bottling, blister, stick pack, and sachet operations.
• Evaluate packaging materials, define specifications, and optimize material-to-machine settings for high-speed throughput, reduced downtime, and consistent quality.
• Troubleshoot material and equipment performance issues for plant operations and external contract manufacturing partners.
• Support packaging capital projects, equipment upgrades, new installations, and preventive maintenance planning.
• Lead packaging component changes, material qualification, change control, label application requirements, and production trials.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Production, suppliers, and contract manufacturing partners to balance cost, sustainability, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of packaging engineering experience in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of packaging equipment, material properties, and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Experience supporting capital projects and collaborating with global teams and contract manufacturing organizations.
• Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation through continuous improvement.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

• Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards for dietary supplement or food packaging.
