Sr Packaging Engineer (Distribution Packaging)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. Onsite role with 10% travel; relocation eligible.

Salary: $133,500–$183,500 per year.

What you will do

• Establish and manage packaging suppliers, processes, and procedures.
• Develop test plans and perform laboratory testing on products, packages, and packaging materials.
• Support the Product Life Cycle process by defining Design for Distribution requirements and influencing product design.
• Develop and maintain global packaging standards and specifications for hirify.global and its supply base.
• Lead continuous improvement, cost-saving, problem-solving, and packaging-related projects.
• Provide advanced training and support to Packaging Engineer III while mentoring junior packaging engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 10+ years of professional experience in packaging engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with packaging design and development, packaging testing and validation, transportation and distribution packaging, and packaging materials selection.
• Experience with supplier management and qualification, packaging specifications and standards, Design for Distribution, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience supporting Product Life Cycle processes and new product introduction activities.
• Fluency in CAD; NX is preferred. Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, Artios, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to lead packaging projects, develop global standards, drive best practices, and collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and product engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and validating packaging solutions for complex equipment, industrial products, or technology hardware.
• NX experience.
