Mechanical Engineer (Paper Industry)

Location: Counce, Tennessee, with consideration across PCA mill locations in the United States

Salary: $86,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Support mill safety, environmental, quality, reliability, and project execution expectations.
• Provide technical support for mechanical maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment tracking, rebuild programs, spare parts planning, and maintenance documentation.
• Plan and coordinate daily, monthly, and annual outage work, including troubleshooting, training, and contractor management.
• Coordinate capital projects from scope development through completion, including designs, specifications, schedules, startup plans, costs, and construction activities.
• Use root cause failure analysis, equipment history, maintenance data, and cost information to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field.
• 0–4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
• Ability to communicate effectively, solve problems independently, manage multiple requests, and work under pressure.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.
• Paper industry experience or related co-op/internship experience.
• Current enrollment or membership at one of the listed partner schools or eligible universities.
