Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (New Product Introduction)

Location: Hybrid role based in Wyoming, Minnesota, USA; up to 25% travel may be required.

Starting pay: $90,000–$116,000 per year.

What you will do

• Guide electronics suppliers through APQP and new product introduction for controllers, displays, electro-mechanical assemblies, and power electronics.
• Partner with engineering and suppliers on design reviews, DFM, DFA, key product characteristics, GD&T, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Review PFMEAs, control plans, PPAP submissions, and supplier readiness to ensure risks and controls are addressed before production.
• Conduct supplier process assessments and quality system audits, identify deficiencies, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Use SPC, continuous improvement tools, and cross-functional problem solving to reduce variability, non-conformances, and supplier PPM.
• Assess prospective suppliers, manage process change validations, and provide input on supplier suitability for future business awards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field.
• At least five years of quality or manufacturing engineering experience with PCBA/SMT, electro-mechanical assemblies, and displays.
• Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, including APQP, Control Plans, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC, plus 8D, DOE, and CAPA.
• Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, CQI-17, and IPC-A-610.
• Strong technical problem-solving, technical writing, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
