Bridge Engineer

Salary: USD $100,000–$135,200 per year

What you will do

• Design new bridges and bridge rehabilitation projects.
• Prepare project plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and engineering documents.
• Perform bridge inspections, load ratings, design work, site and field visits, and shop drawing reviews.
• Deliver quality work across multiple concurrent projects while meeting budgets and schedules.
• Provide QA/QC for design calculations, plans, inspection reports, and load-rating reports.
• Supervise and mentor entry-level staff and coordinate with engineers, project managers, and technical staff.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in bridge design, rehabilitation design, inspection, and load rating.
• Professional Engineer license in Louisiana.
• Experience with bridge and engineering software such as MDX, MIDAS, LUSAS, AASHTOWare, Bentley Bridge Design Software, or LARSA.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation and computer-assisted engineering and design software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
