Structural / Bridge Engineering Specialist

Location: Douglassville, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Salary: $79,979.92–$91,405.62 per year

Transportation engineering work focused on bridge design, rehabilitation, and infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.

What you will do

• Design and analyze new and existing highway, railroad, and transportation facility bridges.
• Develop rehabilitation and seismic retrofit designs for existing structures.
• Prepare contract documents, drawings, specifications, design calculations, plan details, quantity take-offs, and technical reports.
• Perform bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD methodologies.
• Support Design-Build projects, proposal pursuits, and construction-phase submittal reviews.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance for transportation projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant bridge design experience and a strong background in bridge analysis and rehabilitation design.
• EIT certification required; PE preferred.
• Experience with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike projects.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and STAAD or similar analysis software.
• Knowledge of specification writing and cost estimating, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CSI Bridge or OpenBridge Designer.
• Experience with New Jersey, New York, or other transportation authority projects.
• CBSI certification.
• Interest or experience in mentoring and supporting team development.
