Senior Software Engineer, Health Pod (Backend)

Location: Remote within the United States, with regular travel to the Menlo Park headquarters for planning workshops and team collaboration.

Salary: $175,000–$195,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL databases.
• Architect scalable integrations with scheduling software, EMRs, and other healthcare systems.
• Build AI-powered tools and agents that automate administrative work and support clinical decision-making.
• Implement event-driven architectures for real-time communication between systems.
• Ensure integration reliability, security, scalability, and HIPAA-related compliance.
• Monitor performance, maintain automated tests, collaborate with backend, mobile, AI, and clinical operations teams, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java and hands-on experience building microservices with Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, OAuth, JWT, and third-party API integrations.
• Experience with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL or MySQL, and query optimization.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, biosensors, or related fields.
• Experience developing AI agents.
