Senior Software Engineer (Java/Spring)

Base salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain features for residential battery solutions.
• Develop and maintain client-facing REST APIs and the backend logic behind them.
• Integrate distributed internal services to simplify complexity and enable new product capabilities.
• Implement security, data protection, monitoring, and API hardening practices.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, utility clients, OEMs, and other teams to improve requirements and deliver API capabilities.
• Write technical documentation and promote a culture in which developers own quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with the Java/Spring ecosystem.
• Expertise in RESTful web APIs, especially APIs for external clients.
• Strong software design, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of security best practices, authentication and authorization, automated testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, AWS or other cloud providers, and microservice architectures.
• Experience with event-driven messaging, React, protocol buffers, gRPC, containerized systems, or MongoDB.
