TL;DR
Manager, EHS (Environmental) (Full-Time, SeaWorld San Diego) (Environmental Compliance and Safety): Managing environmental regulatory programs, liability operations, and environmental personnel for a year-round theme park with an accent on wastewater, hazardous waste, air quality, spill response, and regulatory recordkeeping. Focus on meeting permit deadlines, supervising staff, managing workers’ compensation and general liability claims, and maintaining compliance across indoor and outdoor park operations.

Location: hirify.global San Diego, United States; onsite work in indoor and outdoor park environments is required.

Salary: $70,304–$75,000 annually, plus bonus potential.

What you will do

  • Manage environmental regulatory and company programs covering wastewater, pesticides, hazardous chemicals and waste, medical waste, air quality, energy conservation, spill response, underground tanks, solid waste, recycling, and DOT requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, inventories, data collection, environmental recordkeeping, permit deadlines, and compliance milestones.
  • Support accident investigations, review injury reports, conduct trend analysis, and manage workers’ compensation and general liability claims with legal and insurance contacts.
  • Supervise environmental personnel, oversee training and performance, provide feedback, and address policy or performance deficiencies.
  • Manage labor schedules, hiring requisitions, payroll accuracy, labor expenses, and operating, workers’ compensation, and general liability budgets.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors, oversee waste and recycling programs, and manage minor environmental spill cleanups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Occupational Safety, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least three years of related Environmental, Health, and/or Safety experience or specialized training.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety laws, with the ability to research new regulations and demonstrate technical and team leadership skills.
  • Experience with general liability, workers’ compensation, claims management, and litigation management is preferred.
  • Must be able to work opening and late evening hours, weekends, holidays, and limited travel.
  • Must be able to work onsite indoors and outdoors in varying weather, including extreme heat, and perform physical tasks such as walking, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, climbing, bending, kneeling, and overhead work.
