Health Safety & Environmental Lead

Location: Onsite in Lancaster, New York, with travel and support for hirify.global locations in Lancaster and Batavia

Salary: USD 60,000–75,000 yearly

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including permits, records, reporting, waste handling, and disposal.
• Lead internal and external audits, address non-conformances, and conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Coordinate HSE training for employees and contractors, manage contractors, and lead safety committee meetings.
• Track, analyze, and report safety and sustainability metrics while driving programs that strengthen a proactive, zero-accident safety culture.
• Lead emergency response planning and drills, maintain emergency equipment, coordinate workers’ compensation cases, and manage HSE supplies and inventory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field.
• Required HSE certifications.
• 5–7 years of experience with health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Demonstrated experience leading HSE programs or teams, with strong communication, coaching, influence, and project-management skills.
• Availability for onsite work in Lancaster and travel to the Batavia location during Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. hours.
