Specialist, Site EHS

Location: San Luis Obispo, California, United States

Compensation: $85,000–$95,000 per year, dependent on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Implement site environmental health, safety, and security procedures aligned with corporate EHS policies and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations and the legal requirements of OSHA, EPA, DEA, and DHS.
• Partner with department personnel to apply safety best practices based on activity-based risk assessments.
• Conduct workplace observations, compliance inspections, and gap analyses; develop checklists and drive gap closure.
• Improve job safety analyses, ergonomic assessments, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE assessments.
• Support EHS projects covering safety, environmental protection, sustainability, and occupational health.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in occupational safety, occupational health, engineering, environmental science, or another EHS-related technical discipline; equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least five years of experience managing successful EHS programs.
• Subject matter expertise in chemical safety, industrial hygiene, electrical safety, energy control, and confined spaces.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• CIH and/or CSP certification.
• ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 experience.
• Safe Start facilitator certification.
