Manager, Paint (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Huntsville, United States. Requires rotating shifts, work outside typical business hours, and domestic and international travel as needed.

Automotive manufacturing operations focused on building vehicles for Mazda and Toyota while supporting the North Alabama community.

What you will do

• Lead paint lines through two-way communication, Floor Management Systems, and alignment with business plan priorities.
• Develop production improvement strategies, translate them into action plans, and eliminate bottlenecks, waste, and chronic downtime.
• Manage shop safety programs, countermeasures, daily process quality, and paint quality improvement activities.
• Lead takt-time change planning, line rebalancing, production trials, training, and the introduction of new models and paint technologies.
• Coach group leaders and team members through development plans, mentoring, and inclusive team-building.
• Collaborate with international Mazda and Toyota team members and other customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in paint, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of automotive paint shops, associated processes, and cross-functional paint operations.
• Knowledge of PLCs and familiarity with Kawasaki or Fanuc robots.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and outside typical business hours.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in automotive paint manufacturing.
• Experience with cost performance, target-setting, paint equipment, paint materials, and plant-level leadership.
• Operating and capital budget planning experience.
• Experience developing supervisors and team members.
