Paint Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Blue Springs, Mississippi, United States; onsite plant role

What you will do

• Support Paint New Model engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
• Provide technical support for paint production processes, equipment, and manufacturing systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors on project scope, equipment information, safety requirements, schedules, and issue resolution.
• Participate in risk assessments and implement safety improvements, engineering countermeasures, and process enhancements.
• Perform structured problem-solving and basic root cause analysis for process, equipment, and manufacturing system issues.
• Maintain engineering standards and track project schedules, risks, action items, milestones, and status updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering.
• Plant-level experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Experience with technical specifications and implementation of equipment or process changes.
• Experience supporting problem-solving activities related to safety, quality, productivity, or cost.
• Experience participating in cross-functional projects or problem-solving teams.
• Must have the right to work in the United States and must not require current or future employment-based visa or work authorization sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Paint Department experience at TMNA or NAMC.
• Experience implementing new technologies, automation, robot or vision systems, Toyopuc, or manufacturing information systems.
• Project leadership experience with activity schedules and KPIs.
• Experience with Ringis, cost-reduction activities, project management, PowerBI, SMS-BR, N-SMS, Smartsheets, or G-Alis.
