Powertrain Field Technician - CVT

Location: Wyoming, Minnesota, USA; onsite laboratory and field testing

Salary: $23.60–$31.25 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.

What you will do

• Set up, configure, maintain, and update test hardware, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Conduct independent laboratory and field testing for CVT, transmission, engine, and vehicle development and validation programs.
• Operate and evaluate off-road vehicles and chassis dynamometer equipment to assess performance, durability, and system behavior.
• Collect, analyze, document, and maintain test data while ensuring its quality, accuracy, and integrity.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and instrumentation issues.
• Create and improve repeatable testing methods, procedures, and processes while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Technical degree related to engines, powertrain systems, automotive technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with powertrain or vehicle testing.
• Understanding of internal combustion engines, fuel injection systems, and engine controls.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, diagnostics, vehicle wiring, and schematics.
• Fabrication, machining, welding, and Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely around machinery, moving parts, engines, and hazardous chemicals; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and interpreting schematics.
• Exposure to ETAS INCA, AIM, or similar testing and data acquisition software.
