Field Service Technician I (Fuel Cells)

Location: Belvidere, Illinois, United States; on-site at a customer location

Salary: $24.50–$25.50 per hour

hirify.global develops and services fuel cell products, including systems installed in electric lift trucks.

What you will do

• Maintain and service fuel cells at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, evaluations, preventative maintenance, and emergency support.
• Complete field retrofits, software and hardware upgrades, and GenDrive stack replacements.
• Troubleshoot and maintain high-pressure hydrogen storage, delivery, fueling, compressor, pad, and dispenser systems.
• Order parts and tools, manage inventory, and complete work orders, incident reports, service logs, and site documentation.
• Communicate with customer personnel, hydrogen suppliers, regional service representatives, and management while enforcing field safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework; formal training may substitute for direct experience.
• At least three years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to safely operate a vehicle, and ability to lift 50 pounds regularly without assistance.
• General mechanical aptitude, technical problem-solving ability, computer skills, and strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, follow safety standards, and respond to off-shift needs.
• Ability to provide a standard set of personal tools; hirify.global provides specialized fuel cell tools.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications.
• Experience with hydrogen fueling systems, multimeters, HPTT, LOTO, valves, fueling nozzles, compressors, and cascade valves.
