Process Safety Advisor

Location: Hybrid role based in the Houston metropolitan area, with a secondary presence at the Marina View corporate office in League City and significant on-site work at facilities in Deer Park, Texas, Chocolate Bayou, and Carson, California.

Salary: Starting at $142,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA operates chemical manufacturing facilities and is implementing a unified Operations Management System and centralized Engineering & Technology organization.

What you will do

• Advance company-wide OSHA Process Safety Management, EPA Risk Management Program, INEOS 20 Principles, and Group Guidance Note programs.
• Lead and coordinate PSM/RMP compliance audits, regulatory reporting, KPI monitoring, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Provide oversight, facilitation, training, and mentoring for PHA, LOPA, HAZID, and Dust Hazard Analysis activities.
• Support facility siting, dispersion modelling, Management of Change, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, combustible dust, fire protection, and capital project process safety requirements.
• Lead or support significant incident investigations and provide technical interpretations of OSHA, EPA, API, NFPA, ISA, ASME, and CSB requirements.
• Influence process safety professionals, site teams, project leaders, and multidisciplinary committees across the manufacturing network.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent engineering discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or refining industry with direct accountability for Process Safety Management delivery or management.
• Deep knowledge of US-OSHA PSM 1910.119 and US-EPA RMP 40 CFR 68 requirements.
• Significant experience facilitating complex PHA/LOPA studies and Management of Change sessions.
• Expertise in risk assessment methodologies, regulatory compliance program design, good engineering practices, and multidisciplinary audit leadership.
• Proficiency with PHA Pro, PHAST, SharePoint-based PSM platforms, and dispersion modelling tools such as RMP*Comp, ALOHA, and CAMEO.

• Advanced engineering degree.
• Participation in external technical committees or industry networks such as AFPM, TCC, or AIChE CCPS.
