Process Safety Engineer

Location: Conroe, Texas, United States; based at the manufacturing facility with regular interaction with plant operations. Work takes place in office and plant environments, with occasional field visits, walking, climbing stairs, and access to operating units.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve Process Safety Information and document control systems.
• Coordinate Management of Change activities and documentation.
• Support Process Hazard Analyses, HAZOP, LOPA studies, risk assessments, and Independent Protection Layer verification.
• Coordinate process safety audits, track corrective actions, and support OSHA Process Safety Management compliance initiatives.
• Provide process safety guidance for CAPEX projects, including facility siting, IPL selection, scope reviews, and MOC implementation.
• Manage incident classifications, maintain incident records, and support process safety KPI reporting and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 1 year of relevant process safety, manufacturing, engineering, operations, industrial, internship, or related experience.
• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, technical writing, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, and Project teams while managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic manufacturing environment and exercise sound judgment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management, 29 CFR 1910.119.
• Experience with HAZOP, What-If Analysis, LOPA, and risk matrix evaluations.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, P&IDs, PHA-Pro or equivalent software, and document management systems.
• Experience supporting Management of Change programs and process safety information management in manufacturing.
