Engineering, Assembly (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Huntsville, United States; onsite assembly manufacturing role

Hiring range: $101,276.70–$129,642.74 annual salary, plus a yearly discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.

What you will do

• Provide daily engineering support to assembly production, monitor safety, quality, productivity, and downtime metrics, and troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues.
• Lead Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, cost-reduction, waste-elimination, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop standardized work processes, work instructions, engineering standards, line balancing, workstation designs, and ergonomic improvements.
• Collaborate with maintenance and controls teams on equipment reliability, new equipment and tooling installation, commissioning, validation, and automation opportunities.
• Investigate quality concerns, perform A3, Fishbone, and 5 Why root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Work with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, suppliers, and contractors; support workforce training for new processes and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and support production requirements as needed.
• For the preferred experience profile: approximately two years of manufacturing or production engineering experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing, or equivalent education.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, Toyota Production System principles, and structured problem-solving.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, automation systems, robotics, conveyor systems, fastening systems, or assembly tooling.
• Experience with ergonomics, workstation design, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, equipment startup, vendors, and schedule coordination.
