Manufacturing Engineer - Senior

Location: New Hudson, Michigan, United States; onsite manufacturing role with occasional travel to customer and supplier locations.

Salary: $82,900–$134,300 annually.

What you will do

• Plan production for new products, including process flows, PFMEA, mistake-proofing, equipment planning, capacity analysis, plant layouts, TPM, and operator work instructions.
• Design assembly fixtures using advanced manufacturing technologies such as PLCs and DC torque tools.
• Support quality and material planning through control plans, gage designs, material-flow plans, inventory levels, and safety-stock plans.
• Collaborate with design engineers and cross-functional teams to improve design for assembly, manufacturability, quality, delivery, safety, and cost.
• Evaluate, implement, and develop business cases for new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
• Develop manufacturing requirements, best practices, capability roadmaps, and technical partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or another engineering discipline with manufacturing experience.
• 10+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and experience launching low-volume products from concept through start of production.
• Knowledge of APQP and experience supporting PPAP requirements, full vehicle manufacturing, and assembly.
• Strong organizational, communication, presentation, customer service, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; reliable transportation, the ability to lift 40 lbs., and schedule flexibility including occasional weekends are required.

Nice to have

• Vehicle and system troubleshooting experience.
• Automotive or defense industry experience, particularly with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• Experience with assembly, fabrication, machining, programmable logic control systems, production quoting, and 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo.
