Skilled Group Leader - Production Maintenance (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Long Beach, California; the selected candidate must reside within a commutable distance of the work location. The schedule is 12-hour rotating weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 6:00 am to 6:35 pm, with occasional weekday work based on business needs.

Annual base salary: $103,800.00–$168,600.00.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and mentor a maintenance team supporting stamping, welding, and painting equipment.
• Supervise responses to equipment issues to minimize production downtime.
• Develop standardized work instructions and job safety analyses for non-standard work.
• Track safety, quality, cost, availability, MTTR, and MTBF performance targets.
• Support new equipment installations, upgrades, refurbishment, demolition, and facilities maintenance issue monitoring.
• Lead root-cause problem solving and develop future maintenance team leaders and team members.

Requirements

• Supervisory or team leader experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance or a comparable environment.
• Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC systems, including Allen Bradley, Toyopuc, Siemens, or comparable platforms.
• Experience creating standardized work instructions, technical presentations, schedules, and work plans using Microsoft Office or comparable software.
• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future immigration support or visa sponsorship from hirify.global.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
• Experience in a labor union, automotive, stamping, welding, or other high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Technical certification, apprenticeship, trade school, or comparable technical training.
• Knowledge of FMDS, 5S, equipment reliability planning, cost management, or cost reduction initiatives.
